Veteran Captain Hospitalized After Fall

11/27/2009 A Lancaster City Fire Fighter has been seriously injured after falling from a fire apparatus. Captain Ken Barton, a 25 year veteran of the Lancaster Bureau of Fire was hospitalized after falling from Truck 2 during the Christmas tree lighting ceremony in Penn Square.
Additional fire crews on scene witnessed the incident and immediately began treating Capt. Barton's injuries. He was transported by ambulance to Lancaster General Hospital's emergency room, where he was stabilized and remains in intensive care.
