11/11/2009 - Lancaster City Fire Fighters will hold their second annual Black Friday "Fill The Boot" fundraiser at the Park City Mall complex in Lancaster's north west. 

The event, in which Fire Fighters ask passing motorists to help fill their fire boots with donations, is part of a national initiative conducted every year by IAFF members to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association. 

MDA and the International Association of Fire Fighters have partnered for 55 years to help fund treatment and research for children living with muscular dystrophy.  100% of the money raised through Fill The Boot goes directly to MDA initiatives.

City Fire Fighters have held several smaller events in the city this year, raising nearly $15,000.  Last year's Black Friday event brought in $4,500.
