Distracted Driver Strikes Tree, Rolls SUV

9/18/09 - Fire fighers responded to a reported crash with entrapment in the 900 block of Race Avenue today. County dispatchers recieved multiple calls reporting an SUV on its side, the apparent result of a single vehicle wreck just minutes after 5:00 p.m. Upon arrival, Engine 1 and Truck 2 found 1 patient, already out of the vehicle. The patient was injured and was transported to LGH by LEMSA. Witnesses reported that the vehicle drifted out of the traffic lane and swerved into a tree, which deflected the vehicle and caused the rollover. The driver was apparently distracted by a pet loose in the vehicle. No other damage or injuries were reported.
